GHEA and CADCA’s Evaluation and Research Team presented the latest installment of the Research Into Action series with Dr. Samantha Puvanesarajah and Michael Tynan, MPH from the Office of Smoking and Health at the Centers for Disease Control. In this webinar, the speakers presented results from their recent article, published in the American Journal of Preventive Medicine in June 2022, which reports separate estimates of self-reported public indoor and outdoor secondhand smoke and secondhand aerosol exposures among U.S. youth, using data from the 2020 National Youth Tobacco Survey. They also discussed policy implications for clean air legislation.

Secondhand smoke and secondhand aerosol exposures are both important public health concerns. As the product landscape evolves, it remains important to modernize and update smoke-free policies to protect people from these exposures from all products, in all settings.
