- A new article in CDC’s Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report (MMWR) examines the characteristics of e-cigarette, or vaping, products confiscated in public high schools in California and North Carolina.
- CDC’s Office on Smoking and Health (OSH) announces a new feature article for this year’s Great American Smokeout®, observed on November 19th this year. CDC joins the American Cancer Society in urging U.S. citizens who smoke to make a commitment to quit for better health.
- New research finds that tobacco product marketing in bars and nightclubs may encourage use among non-users and has no influence on current users.
- The Truth Initiative publishes a series of state factsheets, highlighting current tobacco use prevalence data for different products, state funding for prevention and quitting programs and current tobacco control policies.
- FDA releases a draft guidance on the principles for designing and conducting tobacco product perception and intention studies. The comment period is open until December 28.
