- The CDC and FDA released a new study which found that more than two million U.S. middle and high school students reported that they are currently using e-cigarettes in 2021, with more than eight in 10 of those youth using flavored e-cigarettes.
- Researchers examining dollar stores and the availability of cheap cigarettes among tobacco-related priority populations find that dollar stores may exacerbate smoking-related inequities by contributing to the availability of cheaper cigarettes in neighborhoods that are lower income, rural and have greater proportions of youth.
- A research study examining the associations between perceived and objective exposure to tobacco marketing and cigar use finds that greater perceived exposure to tobacco marketing was associated with higher odds of cigar use each day, and exposure to a greater number of tobacco outlets with outdoor marketing was associated with higher odds of cigar use each day.

- In a recent study, researchers find that greater perceived exposure to tobacco marketing was positively associated with higher odds of cigar use each day. Additionally, exposure to a greater number of tobacco outlets with outdoor marketing was associated with higher odds of cigar use each day.
- The FDA recently announced it has authorized the marketing of three new tobacco products, marking the first set of electronic nicotine delivery system (ENDS) products to be authorized by the FDA through the Premarket Tobacco Product Application (PMTA) pathway.
